Parents please try to:
- Set definite practice times each day (student can keep a practice log if needed).
- Go to piano/instrument with your child and listen to them play! Perhaps sing along!
- Make sure your child practices as soon after every lesson as possible (when the corrections and suggestions of teacher are fresh in mind).
- Encourage proper posture when seated and therefore relaxation at the instrument.
- Provide proper lighting when reading/writing music (ask about piano/orchestra lamps).
- Check their progress when doing written homework assignments.
- Help teacher achieve consistency with your child by keeping up with weekly lessons.
- Show interest and help the child develop a happy attitude toward piano study.
