Music Books and Supplies may be purchased at the studio, approximately $25 to get started. We can also order them on Amazon for you.

K-8 After-School pick-up / drop-off: Please inquire within, price depends on distance (local schools preferred).

Piano Students (4 years old and up) must have a piano or keyboard to practice on at home. If not, you can purchase a keyboard, starting at around $100, or we will find you a new or used piano at no extra charge if you are a registered student. Ask about our moving and tuning services available.

Ukulele Students (6 years old and up) must have a ukulele to practice on at home and to bring to class. We can suggest a local music shop to purchase your first ukulele.

Guitar Students (8 years old and up) must have a guitar to practice on at home and to bring to class. We can suggest a local guitar shop to purchase your first guitar.

Bass Students (10 year olds and up) must already be registered guitar students and/or adult students. Students can use a guitar (or keyboard) to learn and practice bass lines, will discuss further.

Voice, Music Theory and Ear Training (12 years old and up) is incorporated into every child’s piano and guitar lesson, 4 years old and up,  but may also be studied separately from 12 years old and up. This will be determined at the time of orientation/registration. Learning piano is still suggested, as it is the best way to train the beginner’s ear.

Drum Students (6 years old and up) may not always have access to a drum set, but we will work it out! The student will learn the basics of rhythm, how to count beats, using different time signatures and styles while playing along to popular pieces, gaining coordination of all body parts, working separately and together. Rock, Pop, Reggae, Dance , HipHop beats, etc will be covered. Not much reading here, unless requested, then we can dive into that with proper books and exercises. Playing along with others is important, so we will expose our young drummer to a band setting when ready! Get ready to rock!

Four and Five year olds: (weekly 30 min lessons on piano). Each student will receive individual attention on piano for 30 minutes. The lesson will focus on training the young student’s ear as well as developing coordination; first through clapping rhythmic patterns and reciting syllables, then through mimicking melodic phrases, developing his/her manual dexterity while discovering his or her new singing voice. Sparking an interest in music is key at this stage, no reading or writing assignments will be given. Parent or guardian must be present during entire lesson and may be asked to participate.

Six year olds to Adults: (weekly 60 min lessons on any instrument) Each student will receive individual attention on his or her instrument for a full 60 minutes. At this point, reading and writing music is introduced to younger students and beginners. All students will receive written homework assignments with an integrative and comprehensive approach to music theory, as well as being given scales and finger exercises for daily practice. The students will learn selected songs appropriate for his or her level. Various styles of music and artistic influences will be covered from classical to contemporary. Lessons will also cover ear-training and sight-reading drills. Students are expected to practice and complete homework on time. All children are encouraged to perform at the annual spring recital.

Recital Fees: $100 per student, due 30 days in advance of recital date. This fee goes towards rehearsals, rental space, piano tuning, supplies, printing of programs, etc. Recitals are always in June (time and place to be announced).

NYSSMA Evaluations: Over the years our piano students have been evaluated by NYSSMA (New York State School Music Association) and have always scored in the top percentile! Ask us about NYSSMA tutoring and/or preparation for auditions, recordings, performances.
